#244 of 365~After Nine Months

How are we feeling?
Now that ninja mermaid baby is here, we feel blissfully tired.  It's been quite the adjustment going from a family of two to a family of three. Nick says he feels like his "heart is full of peace and joy. Less stressed now that she's finally here." It's weird not having a baby bump and both Nick and I catch ourselves reaching to pat the belly that once was Eloise.  Now we are reaching out to hold this bundle of answered prayers in our arms and can't help but feel favored to have such a beautiful little girl in our lives.

What crazy thing did we recently learn?
Nick-"I've learned to have a different perspective of females.  It's like everything you hear or see a female do our about a female, I find myself filtering through what I want my daughter to act like, sound like, or how I want her to be treated."

Kassie-"I've learned just how little sleep I can live without, that the human body is really weird and crazy and can do the most amazing things.  I've also learned that my fear of becoming a mother to this little girl faded the minute she was placed in my arms. The love I feel for her is so deep and almost unexplainable.  She is imprinted on my heart."

Subject we're not ready to think about?
Nick-"Having Eloise be objectified by guys and having to change poopy diapers."

Kassie-"How short my time with her really is.  I go back to work at the end of August and while I know she will be fine at the daycare, my heart just hurts thinking of being away from her."

What we can't wait for:
Nick-"I don't want to rush anything, I just want to enjoy every day."

Kassie-"I can't wait to go on adventures with her.  This little one we fought so hard for, to finally be able to experience life with her.  This chapter of our lives is the best one yet!"

#243 of 365~12th Anniversary

Yesterday, we celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary.  Our day was pretty low key as we celebrated with the newest addition to our family and an ice cream trip.  It's crazy to think that last year the idea of being parents was a dream and a prayer.  Now, our dream has come true and our prayers were answered in the cutest form-Our Eloise.  There's nothing that compares to seeing the gift of two people coming together and creating this little person that resembles only the best of each of them.  I feel like I fell in love with Nick all over again when I saw her for the first time and to watch him with her literally melts my heart.  We are so excited to start this new chapter of our lives together and continue thank Papa-God for each other.

#242 of 365~4th of July

Happy 4th of July from the Mayo's!
Our day was pretty low key with visits from two Grandma's and a trip to the beach! Okay, as much of a beach as Omaha, Nebraska can have.  The weather was amazing and we enjoyed getting out of the house for some fresh air and a visit with friends. We then headed over to the third grandma's house for dinner with the cousins and had a good time trying to figure out the new additions to the family dinner table.  While the night erupted with fireworks and freedom, we joyfully fell into bed by 9:00  with our own little firecracker.

#241 of 365~One Week Ago Today

One week ago today, our prayers were answered.  One week ago today, we met our miracle baby.  One week ago today, we became a family of three.
Eloise Vialancia Kay Mayo was born on Thursday, June 25th, at 1:29 p.m.  7 lbs 6oz. 20 1/2 inches
It is tough for me to put into words the feeling of becoming a mother, the feeling of watching my husband become the daddy he was meant to be, the feeling of literally holding an answered prayer in my arms.  My heart has been healed, set free, and is bursting with more love than I could ever imagine.  Papa-God heard our cries and answered them with the sweet voice of our Weelo.
